Where do you buy your 05' winter gear? Snow coat and pants. I am not finding anything I like in good quality. I do not want to break the bank at this age and buy north face or anything. I am not spending 100 on just the snow pants.

I thought I would check here to see where every gets it.

I have to have two sets almost. I leave a set of snow pants at Allie's school  because they go out for recess in the winter/snow. This year they are making sure to get them out a lot to air the rooms out. I need warm gear for her. I cannot do the fancy coats that when they get wet do not hold up. I need actual snow gear.

I got Gavin's snow suit with a jacket (combo) at kohl's last year. Seemed to be good quality and wasn't too bad price wise. Not sure if you have a kohls but we will probably look there again this year for Owen.

I've been buying them the spring prior when they hit 70% off.  The last set we got from Kohl's.  Before that, I've always been pretty happy with Oshkosh.

The snow pants in past seasons seemed to look good at Target, though I don't have personal experience with quality.  Frankly, I'm of the opinion that Target snowpants are going to tear as quickly as LL Bean if the kids are rough on them.
I personally focus a lot more on quality boots than snow pants.

No idea if that helps.  Probably not, lol.

Where do you get their boots? I am going to check out Oshkosh. We have an outlet near.

If you have some good consignment stores, I would check there first.  I know outerwear goes fast at consignment stores, but it is worth a look.

However, I have been getting outerwear at The Children't Place.  They were on sale recently, but aren't anymore, which is odd, but their jackets and snow pants are really good, and on sale are not bad (and I almost always have coupons, so if you want to order, ask me first and I probably have a code for 10%, or you can google-there are almost always codes available).  I actually had gotten snow pants for them at BJs, but the jackets I love from TCP.  Kate will wear Anna's from last year (and the year before-the set I had gotten for them before lasted each of them two winters-not the pants, but the jackets), and Ibought a new one for Anna.  I paid I think $28 or $29 for it.  I know it still isn't cheap, but they are durable, and I fully expect Anna's new one to last 2 seasons as well.

The thing I like about them is that they have the zip out fleece lining, so they can wear just the fleece, or just the shell or the entire thing.  And we have used them in all of those ways.  The hoods also detach if you need to take them off.  And there is velcro at the wrists to tighten or loosen in snow. I have washed them and they wash well too.

Last year, Anna got snow bibs from Carters because that is all I could find (I didn't plan ahead and everything else was sold out) and they were crap.  The didn't have th zippers at the feet like TCP ones do, and it was SO hard to deal with getting them over the boots and such.  At least the ones I got at BJs have the zippers. (we are so iffy with snow that I hate to spend much on pants-at least I know they will USE the jackets regardless of snow)

Anyway, that is my novel about snow gear, lol.  They should be going on sale soon if you like TCP ones.

As far as boots, we used their georgie croc rainboots with several pair of socks, but in MI,I would say you need something with a liner!!

ETA-crocs online has their nadia boots as the deal of the week.  If you use the code customerloyalty09, it should give you 10% and free shipping (IDK if there is a minimum with that though)  There are more codes here if that one doesn't work.

I always get their winter coats at Hanna Andersson during the big winter sale.  It won't help you this year (well, the sale is always right before Christmas, so really it could help you for several more months this coming winter), but you can always buy ahead for next year.

I think the coats are usually almost $100, and I think I usually end up getting them for like $30 or $40.

They seem to be really good quality.

(We don't play outside all that often in the winter, but I have bought snow pants at Old Navy.  Hanna has snow pants too, but I have never bought them.  They just don't get used enough.)

 Super Love these:
http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=47683&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&parentCategory=503354&feat=503354-tn&cat4=503535
They come with an extra set of liners so if you are spending a long day playing in the snow you can swtich them out.  They look like they've made an improvement on the last version we got.  Ours were the toddler version and didn't have the cinch top to keep out all snow.

Koda's boots last year were Totes because we had a Kohl's gift card.  He had the black version of these and we were pretty happy:
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/shoes/kids/boots/boys/PRD~470012/Totes+Bryant+Snowboard+Boots.jsp

I've found both brands very durable and all of Koda's boots are being handed down to Tristen in excellent condition.  I just don't trust Walmart/Target boots in our winter.  Too dang cold, and way too much snow.

Thanks everyone

We are out in the snow a lot. Allie loves to go sledding and play outside. Plus she goes out in preschool on the playground and they are required to wear snow pants to protect them.

Thanks, Becky. I am for sure going to check out the Hanna sale this year and see if I can get something for next. That is a great deal and I have always like their stuff.

I am going to hunt around more this weekend and see what I find.

You might try Lands End.  They have some winter coats in their overstock that are not too badly priced.  The nice thing about them is that they are rated by temperature.  They also have snow pants and the quality is really good.  You should be able to pass them down to Mia.  Also if for some reason it doesn't hold up, Lands End is good about replacing things.  You can also take them back to a Sears store (or you might have a sears that has them in store).  They also have good boots.
