I got the shot, my kids got the mist.

For the regular flu, not the H1N1.

We'll get that if there's enough to go around.

Except for Ryan, who probably has it as we speak.

never have, never will.

i am very against pretty much any prophylaxis - it makes the viruses mutate and get worse...

We all got the regular flu shot.  We will all be getting the H1N1, if available.  It seems that Long Island is not getting hit too hard with the H1N1 flu since it made it's rounds at the end of last school year.  The ped was pretty confident Logan had it and it was awful.  I don't want it in my house again.

The FluMist/flu shot is administere for freein our public schools. They send the info home with the children and you have the option to opt out of it (which I did for Daniel only bc his Ped said that because the schools were giving it early this year he would only be 2 weeks since getting some vax so he couldnt get the FluMist at that point). The rest of my kids got the mist at school.

I need to get Daniel another appt to get it from the Ped...when I took him inyesterday, he got one of the last 3 doses of the booster they had and they were out of FluMist....hopefully he won't get sick before I can get him back in.

Lots of kids wearing masks in the waiting room though.

They ran out of the flumist right before the boys' appointment so they had to get the shot! It really isn't that bad but gavin freaks out.

I was going to get mine today but they ran out yesterday! DH & I are shooting for Monday for our flu shots, if they get them in by then.

Still on the fence about the H1N1 for all of us. Leaning towards getting it but still on the fence.

This makes me nervous because of the mist's potential for shedding, so the recipients can actually transmit the virus without even having it.  And since they don't advise people who have gotten the mist to quarantine themselves, they could very likely be exposing high-risk individuals to the live virus unknowingly.

Christopher and I got a mist for seasonal flu today.  The nurse told us that the mist is good for year where a flu shot is good for 6 months.  We will not be getting the H1N1 vaccine.

This was Christopher's first time for a flu shot and the last time I had a flu shot was 5 years ago.  With so many people getting sick around us and with Christopher going to preschool 5 days a week, that made my decision for deciding on a flu shot.
