I just found out that our last flu shot was in 2006 so I am considering getting a flu shot this year for myself and Christopher. Soo after reading the responses on "swine flu", quite a few of us said that we would not be getting it because it hasn't been around for long and not enough testing has been done on the vaccine so I was wondering what the overall feelings were about the regular flu shot...
I get a flu shot early. I work in a school and am in contact with so many illnesses. It spreads fast. I had the flu two years ago and had the shot, but they said it would have been even worse had I not had it. It was my first time ever having the flu. I never want it again. I am pro flu vaccines after seeing what can happen first hand.
I honestly think there is so much hype and fear surrounding this H1N1 vaccine. I mean every year they create a new vaccine for the new strains of flu, so technically they are all new if you look at it that way. It is really just a different strain of the flu vaccine. They have to create the flu vaccines way in advance and when they created this last one it did not cover the H1N1. Even if you get a flu shot does not mean you will not get a different strain, and get the flu. It is a roll of the dice, but they tend to do pretty well with it.
