i picked up a bunch of these books in July - Clara LOVES them.  so much, i ordered a second copy of them.

i really love the numbers and the uppercase letters - they have helped her handwriting SO MUCH.

i have seen lots of other preschool books - but for some reason these have worked the best for us.

just thought i would share.

www.kumon.com

a fabulous system to enhance childrens learning of basics (reading, math).  originally designed by a japanese father who wanted to help his son with his homework.  it is designed to be an after-school supplement to basic learning.

i first heard of it about 10 years ago from my canadian boss who did the program at home with his kids (he wanted them to get more learning in english along with the typical french/german luxembourg program.

he sang its praises back then, and when i stumbled on these learning books i picked them up, and clara loves them.  she calls it "doing her homework"  and she will bring these book out and sit next to cecile when she does her real homework LOL.

i am going to look into the program a bit further for clara...

here is a link to the basic preschool workbooks clara has:

http://www.kumonbooks.com/catalog/catalog_workbooks-preschool.aspx

i originally picked them up in july at the Target in ohio near my parents.

They use to  have many Kumon centers here in MI . It use to be all the rage before it was place by the other 5 different learning styles that came along. Many have since shut down.

I have never checked out the books.
