Those of us here from the IV days surely remember the way those forums were, and I am also a member of a forum for Ulcerative Colitis. That forum is honestly so ridiculous. I mean, don't get me wrong, you can find good information there, but the atmosphere is so different. People are so sensitive about things, not terribly supportive of one another, terribly afraid of spammers, etc. Just recently a young (college aged) girl asked a question about condoms, and a pretty innocent post in response was deleted, then another member had a hissy because the topic was so far off from the topic of UC. UGH!!!!!!!!!! Drama over a 19 year old asking something about condoms???
I just wanted to say thank you-to Michelle and Damon and to all of you, my friends here. Things have been pretty quiet here, I know, but we are so so blessed to have this forum, and to have each other. I can not tell you how wonderful it is to have a place where I can talk/ask/vent about anything and feel supported and accepted. This place is like no other online community I have known.
And its nice to know that as I'm going through something there is usually someone who has BTDT so its nice to get some advice- from switching OB/GYNs and the support I got from that to Alison and all the support and help she offered when I was on bed rest and then in the hospital to helping me get my milk supply back up and just the encouragement she gave me- as well as others (like Jools) to Grant being laid off and knowing that I'm not alone in my prayers that this will all work out for us.
It means a lot. And though I haven't always been the best of members and disappear from time to time and hardly post except in the daily chat thread, its nice to know that if I do need some guidance or suggestions, I can either read through what others are going through or post and get awesome suggestions.
So thank you.
And I know it means a lot to Grant too. He comes here and reads as well. Shh. Don't tell him I let y'all know but I caught him reading up on here on his CrackBerry (that's what I call his BlackBerry). He claims he does it to check up on me when he hasn't heard from all day. ETA- I think he does it 'cause he's jealous there isn't a DadSquawk. haha

If you agree, post!!!
I totally agree!! I have been on a money saving board lately...just reading and the atmosphere there is very judgmental. I love it here
Totally agree. Even though I haven't been posting as much lately, I feel like I can always return here and be greeted with open arms. Thank you so much.
