can you downgrade your cable?

how about ordering coupons online for your staples (i am doing that tonight)?

do you guys eat out much?

in the past when we were really being frugal, i stopped carrying my debit & credit cards. i only carried cash. i had a stash labeled for groceries and another one labeled for miscellaneous. and that was all i was allowed to spend for the week. that worked really well for me.

i love these ideas!!  who/where are you ordering coupons from?  I plan to get the sunday paper tomorrow and I just found out that schnucks (local grocer) has coupons you can print online.  Our other local grocer has $10 off of $50 on thurs so I was hoping to shop there this week too.

I like the idea about the debit card...it is just so easy to whip that card out :bag

i use couponsthingsbydede dot com - corey recommended them and i love it.

i preview next week's ad for my grocery store online and then order coupons that will make the sales even better.  i also order coupons for my staples.  like i can get $1 off my coffeemate coupons for 10 cents each.  i go through 1.5 bottles per week so that's totally worth me keeping on hand.  kwim?

also, my grocery store has online shopping.  i can put everything in my cart that i want, print that out, but not check out.  then i'm going into the grocery store knowing EXACTLY what i'm going to spend (assuming i don't throw anything else in my cart).

i'll try to see what else i can think of.

www.ppgazette.com has printable coupons from coupons.com, smartsource.com and redplum.com on their site.

www.5dollardinners.com and www.bargainbriana.com are great sites!  Meal planning will save you tons of money if you use coupons plus what's on sale (some grocery stores have sales on items for which coupons are running in the Sunday paper inserts, so you get double savings).

Try the CVS savings...after my first shopping trip there with the CVS card and a plan based on what was on sale, I earned $8 in CVS bucks plus a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $15 or more.

If you have friends and family that get the Sunday paper, have them save the coupon inserts for you if they are not using them, and then stock up on stuff with coupons while it is on sale.

Do you eat a lot of meat?  If so, you could plan at least one meatless meal a week (a pasta dish, casserole, rice and beans, chili, etc.).

I don't know how much I have saved since I started cooking a lot, but we have cut WAY back on packaged and processed foods, so we are eating cheaper and healthier.  I'm not wasting any food anymore now that I'm planning ahead, or when I do have leftover veggies, I make sure to cook them somehow.

I'm just focusing on food because I know that's a huge portion of our budget.
