I love when we don't have to rush. it hasn't happened in weeks but I love that about weekends.

wow. this is hard for me b/c all i want to do is sleep in, but emily wakes up raring to go.

i guess not having to get up at 4:45 is a good thing.

and actually getting to see my kids in the morning is nice since during the week i don't see them til 3:45.

i have to say, i'm actually not that into the weekends.  our weeks are so well structured and the girls are so well behaved when it's just me.  when mike's around they are so psyched and end up acting out. it's almost like too much for them.  i *do* love having an extra set of hands -- though they are so much more work on wknds that i'm basically doing the same amount as usual.
sigh.

it's fun doing our routines though.  we go to this great oldschool diner every sunday morning for pancakes and that's way fun. they have this huge fridge out in the middle of everything COVERED in magnets, and the kids have a ball.

kelly, that fridge with the magnets sounds interesting!

ita about the routine being disrupted. my kids act out a bit on the weekend too - and that's on top of their normal at-each-others-throats behavior.

we love to go to this restaurant by our marina on sunday mornings and sit outside by the canal and watch the boats come through. i'm so sad it's about to be over. :(

mmm that sounds SO NICE.  love it.

do they have indoor seating for winter?

the magnet thing is great bc there are never a lot of people there - it's like seating for 4 families and that's it. score.

yeah, they have indoor seating, but it's about 40 minutes from our house.  we wouldn't drive all the way down there if we weren't already at the marina with the boat, kwim?

we have tons of diners around us, so we'll probably just have to start doing that one morning on the weekends.  :)

btw, your b&a pics of your hair are AMAZING.  stacey sent me the instyler yesterday, so it should hopefully be here monday or tuesday.

i can't wait to try it!  i will be thrilled if mine looks as good as yours!  btw, you said it takes you about 20 mins with the instyler.  how long does it take you with the chi?

gm smile

i'm with kelly. weekend mornings don't thrill me. at least one morning of the two i get up with the kids alone and let dan sleep. he works so early and so hard during the week that i feel like he really needs that break. but then we end up sitting around waiting for daddy to get up and we don't do much for 1/2 a day and that feels like a big waste of time.

my favorite weekend thing is when dan takes all the kids out so i can clean in peace. just me & my music. that won't be happening this weekend because we're so busy.

we are/were supposed to take the kids fishing today. they asked us to. but yesterday dan started coming down with a head cold and he's not looking so good.
let me say, i am NOT taking 3 kids under 5 fishing alone. no.way.

I probably missed all of you. I'm sitting at the house waiting for the installer to finish. Or start, really.

All by myself. Mike took the kids down to the farmers market. Peaceful.

Morning!

Sleeping late on Saturdays.

Henry asked to go to the zoo AGAIN today.

I really don't mind since it's free with our pass even though it is kinda far away.

It is still really cloudy and looks like rain.

At least no one else will be at the zoo.

Glen and Mark went to get doughnuts.

After we eat those, we'll head to the zoo.

Ugh.
It is not a good morning in this house. A certain 4 yr. old has been rude and nasty since the moment he hit our room this morning and has yet to stop. I'm all out of ideas on how to combat this.

My favorite part of the morning is just laying in bed with DH and talking to him especially on the weekends when he doesn't have to be up for work..He'll go and make coffee and bring us back a cup and we'll sit in bed and just talk.

Sara your kids are Sooo adorable.

My fav thing about weekend mornings are my sleep in days. Dh and I alternate days on who sleeps in. We always love having saturdays because we still have to be up for church on sundays.
