thanks liz! i was thinking of you yesterday at 10pm while painting my cabinet frames - LOL. i chose ballet white, semi-gloss, and they look great. i bought knobs and pulls today at home depot. think i might go with grant beige for the walls but it's still TBD.
i'm hoping for the whole thing to be done by next weekend (minus the floor). ARGH this has only been since MARCH!!!

no, we just did a -- maybe 2 inch?? - chunk of counter up the wall. no formal backsplash though.
ya know how the dining room (not really a dining room) leads right to the kitchen - well there's that wainscoting - i was soooo stressed about whether that should match the cabinets or not (i like darker wains, but not darker cabs, and then felt like dark wains and light cabs would be too much visually...) - ANYWAY, i fell in love with this ballet white color and am doing the wains ballet white, and darker tops. i cant wait to see how it looks. it's also hard to picture ANYTHING with this blue tile floor - i'm trying to visualize the floors as they will be (wide planked and light wood) -- ANYWAY, little by little!! (are you kidding me that they're jumping on the beds after i JUST said not to....)

you're too funny! why do kids love to jump on beds? (Ivy keeps thinking she is getting a bounce house for christmas (yeah right ;)
I just googled the paint colors and the grant beige looks really nice - it seems like it could go with everything so the floors should go right now and in the future when you get new ones in.
SHUT UP!!!!! OMG-she is gorgeous!!! I can not get over how much she has grown, and how seriously adorable she is!! And she is TOTALLY ready for balle-she is already dancing like a pro!!! her, seriously.
I love her green tutu :) Was that her going out on the town outfit?
Thanks for sharing. They made me smile.
i had ordered the green tutu for her halloween costume, and she's obsessed with it. this past friday she refused to take it off and i wasnt going to argue with her, considering the morning we were having. i love that shot bc it's POURING rain (you cant tell there) - and she was FURIOUS, walking through town swinging her dolly with the binky FIRMLY in mouth, refusing to let me hold her under the umbrella...so all i could do was walk behind her with my umbrella and coffee and photograph it all. piece of work.
she is seriously soooooo cute! (makes me kinda hope this one is a girl, even tho i want it to be a boy!)
well as i learned the first time around, the tutu/dressup thing is no guarantee - rachel wanted NOTHING to do with this sort of thing (she still doesnt - when they play dressup together, R will put on a tutu for 2 seconds and then "dress up" in a different school outfit - lol). that's why i'm sort of overindulging with cara - soooo much fun!!
