I've been reading all these different money-saving blogs lately, and I keep seeing that people save a ton of money with the CVS card, especially when their deals coincide with manufacturers' coupons. I'm going to start this week, but I was wondering if any of you ladies have done this? It sounds kind of convoluted but if I can figure it out, it should be fun!
oh, and since i totally thread jacked--you can totally find advance cvs ad scans online a week or so early so you can order coupons, which will make your ecb's better. try the cvs forum on slickdeals.
you are going to be sorry you posted this, b/c once i start talking about deals i can't stop.
i don't know how much you have read about cvs so far, but atleast in my area, be prepared to go sunday morning for the best selection--alot of people do the ecb rolling and those cheap/free items go quickly. many times they are gone after the first day.
and another thing for regular sale items--usually cvs computer are programmed to start selling things at sale price late afternoon saturday (the day prior to the sale officially starting) so if there is something on sale you really want try going the night before and using the self scan thing--most times it is already programmed at sale price.

corey, i've been interested in this since the last time you posted about it.
we are a VERY HEAVY drugstore area - i would say that in a 10 minute radius, i have 2-3 walgreens, 2 rite aids and 3 CVS's. i'm going to look into this and see if i can get it down.
stopping at a CVS 3 or 4 or 5 times a week would be nbd at all to me since i can drive past 3 or 4 different ones every day on my way home depending on which way i go.
ok. I am sure there was another post on this, but those deals on slick deals. Are those ones you just get with your card? Do I need to do something else?
I have a CVS card and use it religiously. I have saved a ton of money - it's the only drugstore I shop in (and like April, I have a ton of options within 5 minutes of my home). Definitely worth looking into.

ditto
I love CVS. In fact, I JUST bought some flip flops for myself, on summer clearance. With my card, they were 79 cents!!

ok, my questions may sound dumb. I have never done the whole coupon thingy and I need to start.
CVS lets you do multiple transactions and use the care bucks right after ringing it up?
melissa,
if you do a google search for cvs 101 you will find a bunch of blogs that will answer all your questions. it would take me forever and a day to type it all out myself:)

gosh, this is madness. I do not know if I have it in me to do a long transaction like that. Maybe I can if I go at 1am,lol.

melissa, i'm intimidated too, but i'm going to start slow and see how it goes.
i'm going to start ordering coupons from dede on the things i buy REGULARLY - coffeemate creamer, marinades, dressings, etc. then i'll add things i see in the cvs ECB flyers and hit them up.
from slickdeals, i saw this yesterday and i'm going to try this one b/c it works for me.
it can totally be intimidating. i don't frequent cvs myself unless i see something stellar, for the single reason that my grocery store rocks and i barely have the space for all the great deals i score there alone. that being said, the easiest way to start out is exactly what april is planning to do-- look on the deal forums, copy other people's scenarios at first b/c they know what they are doing and you won't have to stress that you messed your math up, etc--once you get the hang of it, you will be able to figure out deals all on your own. it is a learning curve, but pretty easy to figure it out once you try it a few times.
