You forgot the option of "I chose to stay ignorant of such matters and justify my purchases and lack of spending awareness by buying only things that are on sale, on clearance, or an absolute must."  wink.gif

The river of Denial is really fun to swim in by the way. lmao.gif

This was hard for me to say.

We get a ton of clothes from friends, I buy a lot on sale at our grocery store for ~2$ a shirt, $5 pants, etc and my mother in law gives us huge piles of clothes for birthdays (August) and Christmas so I don't really know how much I really spend or how much I would spend if I wasn't so lucky to get all of this.

Plus, we don't have gymboree or target and children's place has such amazing sales so I'm sure I'd spend much more if i were living in the US.

I chose $50 - 100 (or whatever one was close to that) but only because of the kids' shoes and coats.

Most of my kids' clothes are free hand-me-downs.

Henry is bellowing; I'll come back.

Without shoes, probably 50-99.  With shoes probably 110-149.  Less for Tristen since he gets all Koda's hand me downs.

Though I would say we really have to buy three/four season depending on growth. Summer isn't quite spring/fall wear and fall wear isn't quite warm enough for winter wear.  At least in wonderuflly freaking freezing Maine :)

i spend in the 200-300 range.

I spend very little because I have so many and I have older children.  I just bought fall clothes for my kids yesterday.  I spent $125 for all 5 of them, including shoes.  Rebecca only needed some sneakers, a couple pairs of pants, and some underwear.  Crystal only needed some sneakers, a couple pairs of pants, and some socks.  Kyle didn't need anything.  Brenna needed a pair of dress shoes.  Brittany didn't need anything.  Brenna, Brittany, and Crystal use hand me downs so I rarely have to buy them anything.  Kyle seems to grow in major spurts.  He'll fit one size for a couple of years then within a month or so grow 2 or 3 sizes.  It makes shopping much cheaper for him than if I had to buy every single size.  However, when my kids were younger, I would spend close to $150 per child per season.

I really have no exact figure. It is a lot though. I buy way too many shoes. Is this just clothes and not hats, mittens, coats?

IF it is shoes, coats, clothes and 2 season then I would have to say at least 200-300 and I am sure it is more if I added it all up. I mean here we have summer, winter, spring and fall and they are all different clothes. So, I have warm, cold and then the in between stage.

I know just for the cold season for Mia I spent at least 200. So, I guess then I am closer to 400 total per kid.

I shop all year and stash stuff away, so I never really know what I spend in total.

i put 200

but really thats prob what i spend for all three about. My mom really buys my kids a ton of clothes and if we went into how much she spends on them it would be an embarassing number.

I just spent around $125-150ish I would guess on Bryce's fall wardrobe and two pair of shoes.

Owen gets all of Bryce's hand-me-downs minus getting new shoes and those were 40 for two pairs.

Keegan gets all hand-me-downs minus his shoes which were 50 for both pairs.

I put under $50. I am very lucky, my family buys the boys tons of clothes. My mom lives here and buys them stuff all the time. Plus they're boys so it's a bit easier not to be sucked into buying clothes just because they're cute.

I voted 50-100 for Raven for fall/winter becasue that would include her $85 coat that I got for $25 at the end of last season. Raven lives in t-shirt(short/long), jeans and sneakers for fall/winter and replace jeans with shorts for summer. Stephen is around $100. Thankfully he could care less about labels and he will wear shorts all year.

i didn't vote. i probably spend a couple hundred per kid per season, but i am usually buying a season ahead, so the $200 would probably be $500 worth of clothes had i not got it all off the 75% off rack, kwim? so, i guess out of pocket expense would be around $200ish each. like melissa said, it is so hard to judge when you buy/stash all year long.

oh, and like jenn said, we definitely buy for more than two seasons here--i would guess we do three-- fall/winter, spring (since our spring is so chilly), and summer.

IHNI.  Like some others, I tend to buy ahead, so I forget how much I spent on things.

When I go a gymbo run, like a major one for both girls, I spend about $250 (I only shop sales/clearance, so that usually buys a full season of stuff from them).  But they don't have everything the girls need, so there are pjs, undies, socks, pants (gymbo pants don't fit them as well as other brands), etc.  I tend also to pick up dresses on sale that I love.

Kate gets a lot of hand me downs, but the problem has become that they want to have the exact same wardrobe.  They don't always want to match on the same day, but if they like the other's dress and don't have one of their own, they get upset.  So I tend to buy two of things if I can.

Add in shoes and holiday dresses?  I would say I am up to like $400 per child, though Kate is a little less (we re-use crocs with her too).

It is a lot-and I am SUCH a sucker for cute clothes on clearance.  I will buy things on clearance at Target for like 75cents/shirt, because I found something cute, but they already have a million shirts and they really don't need it.  I have GOT to work on that.  Not to mention they have their own opinions now, so even though I will buy them each 10 dresses, they will end up only wanting to wear the same 3-4 all of the time.  Maybe it is time I start taking them with me???

i used to be a clothes hound for Cole, but he grows sooo slowly and I can never guess if he's going to grow between seasons or not.

i used to shop mega clearance sales, but then i never guessed his sizes correctly, so I don't do that much anymore.

I buy with coupons at gymbo, and just get a few "current" pieces to mix in with the stuff he hasn't outgrown.

I must say, i miss my clothes hound days...I love shopping for kids!

Hmmm, I never really thought about it or kept track of the total.  I tend to buy basics in bullk when on sale (like bike shorts form Children's place at 2.00 or so, Leggings/yoga pants from Target, or shorts form old navy for Rhys at 2.50 or so).  Then I fill in with cute tops and dresses and stuff here and there from gymboree on sale or Baby Gap or Target.  I pick up some name brands like Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger at TJ Maxx. Kiera has gotten pretty picky, so I'm gun shy about buying stuff she will not end up wearing.  It seems like such a waste to me (of money, only because I think oh my gosh, I could have bought X with that !).

ETA: we got a ton of hand me downs for Rhys which helped immensely. Also, I am a sucker for pjs.
