Anyway, I rubbed a non-coated aspirin on the (now two) sores on the inside of my lips, and it worked wonders.

It was absolutely torturous when I was applying the aspirin. Ouch, ouch, ouch. But just a few seconds later, the pain was completely gone. And it lasted a long time.
