uhm ... NO!

i get one every year.  for 2 years after timmy was born i had them every 3 months as i had cervical cancer, then for 3 years after that twice a year.

that does not seem right at all - i would still insist on one every year.

i told her that we did them every year in the US and she acted shocked.  i told her that i want one anyway because i have had an abnormal one before, so she was ok with that.  i was just really surprised that they only do them every 5 years, and she said starting at age 30.  i'm not sure if they do them at all before that or not.  doesn't make sense to me at all.  or, maybe my doctor is messed up confuse

trust me that is NOT standard protocol!  that is just insane!

i had cervical cancer at 27 - you must insist on this annually, and if your doc gives you a hard time, change doctors.

i just did some research, and apparently in the netherlands, they don't start doing them until age 30, and then they do every 5 years.  i guess my doctor isn't a quack, just following the protocol.  luckily, she was fine with me having one since i told her i wanted it anyway.
