So when we moved into our house About a week into it the electric company came and just shut off our power. I guess the had us under our neighbors house number (which is very simular) Jessie called them since he was home with the kids at the time. And they were very apologenic and had it fixed real quick. I called them later to straighten out the house number issue.
Well this was back in June.
So fast forward to last friday. my neighbor grabbed me when I got home from work and said he had our bill. I guess they didn't get the address change.
So I called them and found out they had hooked both houses into my account so sicne june we had been paying out neighbors and our electric. the poor girl was so nice and kept saying "Oh my god what a mess, Oh my good what a mess, Well get this fixed right away but it will be monday since everyone is gone home for the day.)
So I expected to get a call from a manager like I requested on friday since this was supposed to be fixed months ago. No call. I finally called back Monday night and (heres the kicker) the lady said everyone was gone for the day but I just need to go to my neighbors and collect the money from them. :Jawdrop Excuse me It was there mistake and I am NOT going up to my new neighbors and telling them they owe me $160. I finally hung up on her after the 6 time she told me this.
I called back yesterday and they said they were going to start to look into this and get back with my yesterday evening.
I get a call last night from them and now they have come to the conclusion that I owe them money.......Excuse me....... I was dumbfounded. they say we missed paying them from 5/15/09-6/12/09. But I looked at my check book and we had a check clear on 6/2/09, and 6/27/09.
so today I am going to get my bank statement and their statements and I'm going in fireing bullets. This is just redicuouls.
You will have to update us on this. It's amazing how when a company messes up they expect the customer to fix it. I wish I could say we have never had a similar experience, but that would be a lie. Maybe you need to contact the BBB.
They are working on it right now. hopefully they figuer out I don't owe them any money. At least I got ahold of the lady I was working with Friday (she has been the most helpful) and now she has given me her direct line so I don't have to deal with anyone else.
HAHA (Not really )Can you believe I just got a bill STILL Addressed to my neighbor after they were supposed to fix this originally back in July.
No wonder we got a call from the 1-2 weeks ago saying we hadn't paid our bill. So DH had to pay a whooping $266. Then 1-2 weeks later get another bill. Doesn't sound right.
I will be going down tomorrow and I will speak to a manager. When I was dealing with this before I kept asking for a manager and they kept dodging getting me one.
I am pissed. But they won't know how pissed I am until they actually see in person.
They are lucky they are the only electric company in town.
