Are you current on your yearly exams?

I have to admit that I'm not. I always made my appointment for my yearly obgyn exam when I got the postcard in the mail from my doc.

Last January (2008 not 2009), I had a physical through some place affiliated with Glen's work. They do pap smears there but I told them I'd prefer to have that done at my regular doc. But then my regular doc never sent me another reminder card to make an appointment.

I should go right now and make that appointment but it is just something I dread. And I hate to waste precious baby-sitter time doing something blah like that.

Are you current?

As of now I am but only because I had a baby recently.

My doc never does reminders.

Yes, but ditto Tracy's reason. Without insurance it's just not going to happen.

I am and I urge you to make your appointment.  I had a problem in my 20's and then again this past year (lucky for me all is well).  I am paranoid not to go. giggle.gif

I hadn't had a pap since my 6 week checkup with Carter.  So I made the appointment and had it a couple of weeks ago.  I go back on Wednesday for an U/S and Uterine biopsy as my periods have been 14+ days for the past few months.  Fun, fun, fun.  Ugh!!!

I'm not, but I'm not too far behind.

I was supposed to have my yearly in July.

I try to keep current within a couple of months.

My last annual was last October and I just made an appointment with a new doctor for beginning of October.

I'm also current with dental exams but that's because I love going to the dentist. I like to think of it as Disney World for your teeth.

Yes-but I was a few months late for my last PAP. I definitely go every year.

I am thinking about making an appointment with a new obgyn though-I want to switch anyway, and am still have some bleeding post sex (sorry for the TMI), and not just when my period is due. IDK if it will be covered, but I'll pay the price to establish myself with another practice and ask about this.

ITU though-it isn't the way I want to spend my babysitter hours...

Yep I'm current on my annuals. I don't know why but this is just one thing I don't procrastinate on. Most of everything else but not this.

Current here...but only because I can't get a prescription renewal on my bcp unless I go every year.

No.  I haven't been since Anna was born 2.5 years ago.  I am, however, scheduled to get one the first week of September.  I finally made the appt and I am having a physical done as well so I'll be all caught up.

ok, getting on my soap box for a sec.

All of you ladies who have not been in over a year need to call asap and make one. I lost a friend to cervical cancer. She missed one year of her paps. The Dr. said if she had come in they could have caught it sooner. I make sure to always stay on top of mine.

We all make sure our kids are healthy, so we need to make time for us to stay healthy too. We are no good to the kids without our health.

ok, stepping down. Got that off my chest.

I am current. :)

I'm not. I don't know when I was due...? Sigh. I don't love that kind of visit unless i'm preggers then it's all good in my world because it's for a good cause. I need to make an appointment.

I am. This is one of the only things I'm sort of neurotic about in my life. Otherwise, I'm a complete procrastinator (bad I know. Except the kids appts). I've never had anything abnormal before to make me so neurotic, but I'm always current. The latest I've been is a month.

Now, a physical? That's a completely different story..  blush.gif  I need to get in to get one, asap. Ugggh..

I'm current. I had a scare in my 20s and definitely go every year now.

I try to do the appointment around my anniversary so I remember. (That was around my 6 week with both Charlie and Josie so that is the date I use now).

warning to all - JUST DO IT!

It is worth the cost - insurance or not.  it is worth the hassle.

I had cervical cancer after timmy was born - fortunately this was caught and treated early in my annual exam and i am still here to live and to enjoy my family (with 2.5 more kids!)

i was only 29 years old.  i did NOT go regularly to my gyneo before.  my doc says that having kids can change your hormonal levels and this stuff can happen.

if i had waited till i got pregnant with cecile a year/18mos later to go back, it would have been to the advanced stage where i would have had to decide to terminate her pregnancy to have chemo.  heck, it could have been too late for me...   (mine was a surprisingly fast growth - 6 months after his birth i had the worst level pap possible)

please, please.... get your annual exam!!!!

absolutely current, to the month.  it's something i definitely dont mess around with.

i'm current right now on regular physicals too, due to the vertigo situation in january.
i'm not quite as diligent about regular physicals though.
however, i plan to get my ass in gear because i'm a mommy now and these kids need me to be healthy.
