Lunches?

So, Ryan would be happy every single day with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, some sort of fruit, and a capri sun. Seriously, that is what he says he wants every morning.

But, I'm getting sick of the same ole' thing.  So, what kind of stuff are you packing for lunches? He gets hot lunch every once in a while, but mostly we pack his lunches.

Just curious to see if I can get any new ideas :)

I have been thinking about this too since I will be having to pack a lunch for E three times a week (I know she is not in elementary but thought it still might have relevance.)  I also would love to know what others are doing.

So far I have:
Deviled eggs
humus w/ pretzels and carrots
Mac and cheese in a thermos
crackers and cheese
sliced apples
grapes

Hannah always liked homemade lunchables.... small tortillas, pizza sauce, cheese; cracks, thin sliced ham or turkey and cheese cut into fun shapes. But she's a pb&j lover too, so I would just use cookie cutters, or cut puzzle pieces with the pizza cutter. Doesn't add nutritional value, but it made me feel better about sending it, lmao.

Other things we made, or are planning on making:
Quesadillas
JuiceCous (Hannah loooooves it... orange flavored couscous with craisins... I'll send you the recipe if you think Ry would like it.)
Cold pasta salad (Hannah loves Kristi's version)
Taco Salad
What we call here, Bulldog Sandwiches: it's a grilled cheese, with pepperoni, mozzerela and pizza sauce
Taquitos (from the frozen food section, blush.gif )
Sandwich roll up
Fruit salad (yummy, yummy. lol, sorry)
soups
Fluffernutters

Does he like yogurt?

What about bagels with cream cheese or something else on it?

Does he do fruit at all?

What about leftover dinner?

string cheese, crackers, granola bar, go-gurt

Those will be staples in gavin's lunch. I'm working on getting him to eat sandwiches. So far, no go but he does do grilled cheese. That won't help much at school though.

What really sux is trying to keep stuff cold especially here in AZ.

That's why I love PB&J and crackers.

My alternative is always turkey sandwiches but only 2 of my kids will eat those.

Sometimes I just send a raisen bagel and some other stuff like string cheese and apples.

Cheese and crackers

Turkey sandwich

Hot dog in a thermos (sometimes with a bun, sometimes not)

turkey (or ham) lunchmeat with some cut-up cheese (homemade lunchable)

I usually try to put fruit in there--mandarin oranges, grapes, banana. The banana always comes home uneaten.

I also do the "invididual bag" lunch--probably more often than I should. Bag of peanut butter Ritz bits crackers, bag of Cheetos, bag of cookies, bag of fruit snacks, Capri Sun.

I don't live in AZ but I always put an ice pack in Henry's lunch if he's taking cheese or lunchmeat.

My kids have a new-found love with cinnamon bread. Traditional peanut butter and jelly tastes even better on this bread!
