Good morning!

What is your favorite memory from school? Do you remember your favorite lunch box? A favorite outfit? Your favorite teacher?

Josie has started to call me mom.

disbelief

I correct her every time. Mommy.

She's too young for me to be mom!

And she's started asking Why? Who taught her that word???? I'm very careful to never use it. lmao.

Does anyone know how much it costs to carpet a room?

The room is 11*13. And it doesnt' have to be super high quality carpet.

my guess would be between $500 and 600.

a lot of places (like empire today here) have a $500 minimum.

You could probably get a remnant that big for pretty cheap and then just pay for the pad and install.  Most carpet places have remnants lying around!

my in-laws left about an hour ago.

the kids were sad to say goodbye, but matt even more so.  he got really upset when we came back inside and emily asked to call nana.  i don't see matt cry often, but today was one of those days.  cry

he's heading to the boat right now and i'm getting us ready (and waiting for the dryer to be finished - jake had poop all over his blankies this morning - blech).  we're leaving soon.  my hope is to take the kids swimming when we get there.  then lunch.  then head out on the water where we can have them nap while we get some quiet time.  :fingers

In I think the 3rd or 4th grade I had a favorite outfit. It was velvet pink leggings and a black and pink sweater that had a flute on it. I wore it EVERY monday because we had music class on mondays and I thought it was AWESOME!.

WE have a thing at church today so that we can work with the kids in awana thisyear.
I hope my kids are well behaved for the meeting.

Good morning!

I was always sad that I didn't have a lunchbox. School got out before lunch. Boo hoo.

Hannah on the other hand has a pink sparkly princess lunch box. :giggle

I always liked school but I can't think of any particular event right now.

My extended family just left.

Today is my mom's birthday.

We all met at Coletta's for lunch, then everyone came here for cake and ice cream.

I'm taking the boys swimming in a little while although they seem to have forgotten.

Did I tell y'all that one of my swimming buddies--the one who usually swims with us and plays with the kids--called the other day to ask us to come swim because she missed us? I have trained her well.

And today we're going swimming at my Sunday school friends' house. She needs to go to a shower and asked if I'd watch her kids while she was gone. Of course I will!

I did have a favorite outfit in high school now that I think about it.

It was some stretch jeans, a long-sleeve white Oxford shirt, and a long black sweater.

I thought I looked skinny in that.

Also, I took COE (Clerical Office Education) and we got extra credit if we "dressed" on Wednesdays--dress or skirt with pantyhose and heels. I had this one navy blue dress that was a little bit stretchy, and I thought I was HOT STUFF in that dress for sure. I wore it every Wednesday.

Favorite teachers . . . I loved most of my teachers.

I loved Mrs. Dodd, my 2nd grade teacher. She read "The Secret Garden" to us.

I loved Mrs. Hill, my 4th grade teacher. She was all grandmotherly.

I loved Mrs. Bolton, my 6th grade teacher, mostly because I just loved the 6th grade.

I loved Mrs. Zills, my 11th grade AP English teacher. She invited us to her house for a party.

I didn't mean to be MIA yesterday, but after the day I had it was probably for the best, lol.

We went to Holly's 4-year and Lance's 2-year checkups at like 9:15. Hit an insurance snag, ended up putting $400 on the credit card so they wouldn't turn us away, because Holly really had to get that exam to be able to start pre-K, and Lance needed the checkup too. (Healthcare is such a racket...but that's another discussion entirely.)

At like 10:45 we finally got into a room. furious The kids were amazingly good. Rob was in the car with Evie; originally I had wanted him to come in with me so I'd have his voice of authority to help keep the kids in line (they listen better to him, darnit), but Evie had fallen asleep on the way, and it was a mild day, so he put on some music and was chilling with her.

Holly is 35 pounds and 40", so she's still petite. Lance is 27.6 pounds and 36 1/4" -- catching up fast! She had three shots; he had two. cry

We got out of there THREE HOURS after we went in, and I was surprised Rob hadn't had to come in and swipe the diaper bag in all that time.

He turned the key to start the van. Click-click-click. Ohhh boy. Long story short, Rob called his boss (who had the day off -- Rob was supposed to be at work already by that point) and the boss man showed up in this huge truck, and they jumped the van. Still wouldn't start. So the boss took all of us home.

Rob ended up getting a successful jump from the tow guy, thank goodness, but I think a new battery is in our near future. It's about that time, I guess.

What an awful experience.

I'm glad the kids are healthy and growing.

I hope your day today is a million times better.

i just remembered my fave outfit.

for xmas around 6th grade or so i got a pink benetton sweatshirt that was off the shoulder and a tiny white cotton stretch mini-skirt. i was hot in that outfit, lmao!

:)

we're hanging out at the marina tonight. no naps for the kids today, so they'll be in bed SOON! probably in the next 2 hours at most.

i'm drinking a blue moon while the kids watch YGG and matt goes to get them some pizza for dinner. we didn't feel like grilling out tonight. :)
