Question about booking flights...

We do not fly often and hate itno

BUT I think we are going to have to fly down at the end of March beginning april to Florida, which is spring break for many people.

I was just looking at flights on expedia from NY to Fl and was finding nonstops for over $600 cry.gifangered.gif

I know this is not near the normal price I have paid to fly there.

Is there a certain time in advance that I should look. Is is more expensive if you look further in advance?

Will Southwest fly with the airports you are wanting to use?

If so I would just watch their Ding rates but it will be a few months from now before the ding rates for that time start popping up.

I recently saw something online somewhere that JetBlue is doing a fly all you want for $599...i didnt read anything about it, but if anyone flies a few times a year, it might be worth looking into.

April, I know you fly jet blue, did you see this?

http://www.jetblue.com/deals/all-you-can-jet/

It is not the right time frame for you Joyce, but, maybe someone else could use it...

i have seen that, but they don't have convenient flights from my close airports.  jfk & lga are around 2.5 hours from me.

thanks for thinking of me though!

Joyce I'm not sure exactly where you would/could fly out of but check Allegiant air.  They fly into the Orlando/Sanford airport (which is about 20 minutes out of Orlando) for pretty reasonable prices; usually $80 each way.

Also use the site Kayak.com to get some price references to go by.  There used to be an airline called Spirit Air that made tons of flights between NY and FL for good prices but I'm not sure if they are still around.

You will definately be able to find much better deals than what you saw.  That is crazy.

another site to try is sidestep.com. It checks most travel sites and gives you quotes and links to the best flights.

Prices might go down when it gets closer to. I've had lucky with that when flying from NY to Indy. You don't want to wait until the last minute necessarily. Just keep an eye on it.

Check Spirit. I have flown them a few times to FL and they have always been the cheapest.

I think I paid in March about 300 for my flight. I have found them even cheaper, but  March is usually one of the most expensive months. I would wait a bit and shop around for a good price.
