Are you still using this makeup?  I know for a while, there was a big BE movement, and now that it has been a while, I am wondering if you are all still enamoured with it?

I will admit, I am not using it anymore.

1) the colors have never been right.  I have tried like three different foundations shades and they just aren't right for me.

2) time consuming to put on-at least for me, it takes a lot longer than my old makeup does to apply

3) cost.  It is just so much more than other things that I feel work just as well.

Now I will say that I still use the mineral veil as my powder, but as for the makeup itself, meh.  I have switched back to my old brands.

What about you?

I am not a regular user anymore (tried it 3 or so years ago) but still have some left over. Every once and a while I'll wear it to change things up. I love it right when I apply it, but at the end of the day it looks awful on me. I am very oily, so I'm sure that is the reason. I also find it somewhat messy, but would still use it if it looked good by the end of the day. I love the idea of it, so I really wish it would work for me, but it doesn't.

still using it!

i bought a different brush that i really like. i think it makes me look natural and covers really well, even when my skin is not looking that great.

i using fairly light during the year and light during the summer. i also love using the warmth over it when i have a little tan in late spring and summer.

i rarely use the mineral veil, just because it's another step and i don't find that it makes a difference - in terms of appearance or how the make up wears.

so i'm still a believer. :)

hmm, wonder why you think it takes so long to apply. I think the opposite. I think it so much easier and natural then my make-up prior. What do you use now?

I am still using it. I use medium and it is perfect for my skin.

I am still in search for a perfect lip shade that I love.

I have all the eye stuff and all the brushes.

What does everyone use for concealer?

I am still on the bandwagon!

I'm still using it... when I wear foundation, it's all I'll wear. I want to branch out into the eyeshadows and stuff eventually, but haven't made it there yet. The ones I have (that came with my kit) were amazing.

Ditto!  Except I haven't gotten new brushes yet.  I'm hoping to get a whole new set for my birthday in Sept.

I am a huge believer.  I didn't see a huge difference the first day I used it and was about to bring it back.  I think I was used to seeing a more caked on foundation and when I saw that BE looked so much more natural, I was let down and wasn't doing enough.  But when I see my face overall after, I look so much younger, refreshed and my skin is completely evened out.  I have red spots right by my nostrils and is just erases those.

Love it love it love it.  I have no idea what I will do if they ever stop making it.

And ftr, I have never spent more than like $6 on makeup.  IMO this is completely worth it.

I would love to try the eye colors but am worried those will be a waste of $$.

Anyone use them?

I'm still using BE but I think I need another brush.  I currently use kabuki.
April, what kind of brush are you using?

i'm using a brush that's similar to this b/c i haven't been able to find this specific one in a store:

http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P136707&categoryId=C12740&shouldPaginate=true

it got really good reviews.  i really prefer the shorter, denser bristles.  it covers well and quickly.

I use the CG Smoothers most of the time, or the L'oreal version of mineral stuff.  With the CG I use a different pad because theirs covers too thick, but it covers everything really well, and tbh, I get a lot more compliments on my skin with that than I ever did with BE.  With BE, because the colors are off (and I have tried the only three that are even close to my skin tone), I have to use a seperate concealer first, then the makeup, which I find messy and yes-time consuming (there is the whole re-loading of the brush whereas the CG Smoothers just goes on with a pretty quick sweep through and needs no concealer), then there is blush, etc, etc...  It just seems like it takes forever, and my face always looks a weird color after the fact.  IDK-it just isn't working for me.  I thought once I got some color on my face this summer, it would work better, but it doesn't.  Anyway, I don't *think* it is more time consuming, I *know* it is more time consuming for me!!  It takes me maybe 4 minutes to do my makeup with what I am currently using.  With the BE it is more like 10.  I have always had a lot of trouble with blemishes, so that contributes to the time factor-BE doesn't cover those worth crap without a different concealer.

At first I thought it had improved the tone of my skin, but as I used it more, i found that not to be the case-it didn't make it worse, but it didn't make it better either.  And like Jilly said, by the end of the day, my face would be a hot mess!

The L'oreal kind covers more evenly for me, and their colors are spot on for my skin.  I don't like their built in brush thing as well, but I do like that it is all contained.

I have never tried their eye shadows because I don't wear eye shadow...like ever.  Unless I was going to a wedding or something, I just don't wear it. (my eyes are dark, I have long thick lashes that are very dark-so a bit of mascara and a touch of liner is all I need.  More than that on an everyday basis makes me look silly-and most days I wear nothing on my eyes)  But I do like the blush and use it some too.  Like Tracy said, the foundation just isn't right for me.  I guess it can't be right for everyone!

Are you in between the shades you have? Because, sometimes in the height of my tan (which is still very pale, for the general public, lol) I have to mix my 2 shades, and then it's perfect (I don't mix them in their containers... just a dab of each on my brush, and buffing mixes them fine.

Just one more suggestion before you give up, lol!

i never wear foundation so i cannot speak to that.

however last year in vegas at sephora i ran across their bare minerals eyeshadow kit on how to make foiled eyes - i loved their light and dark silver colours so much i picked up a bunch more ranging from the browns to grey tones - anytime i want to wear a metallic-y colour those are my go-to.

love them!

ok, when I said think, it was not as if I was implying anything. just was wondering what was time consuming with the BE since it takes me like 5 min to do my make-up. I do not use a anything but the powder in medium and then blush and do my eyes. I guess it all depends on how much one needs to cover.

I am so confused on the whole concealer thing. Do you wear just the powder that you put on a pad that is in a compact?

Do people use something else for concealer with BE or am I just confused?  Maybe I skip a part. I do not need tons for my skin. I guess I will just call myself lucky.

i forgot to answer this.

i use the regular foundation with the concealer brush.  i usually apply over blemishes before i apply my all-over foundation.  if it's something that needs more coverage, i may use the concealer brush after i apply the all-over too.

I have tried using the foundation on a concealer brush, as they tell you to do (yes, I am a dork and I watched the DVD, lmao), but it doesn't work at.all. for me  in covering blemishes.  So I use a liquid concealer, but I have to be cautious with that in conjunction with the BE because then the powder will stick more to that spot and make blemishes stand out even more!  And again, color differences are troublesome too-BE just isn't the right tone for me.

I have always had trouble with blemishes, but ever since the prednisone, things are worse than they used to be.  Not *as bad* as they were while on the steroids themselves, but worse than they were prior to that.  And who knows if one of my meds contributes-with me, there are so many variables that it is hard to pin point causes of ANYTHING that goes on with my health or appearance!  But I end up with some blemishes everyday of the month anymore-it sucks.

With the CG makeup I use now, it is a cream type foundation, and while it doesn't cover as thick as liquids do (for me, anyway), it covers well enough that if I need any concealer at all, it is minimal.  It helps too that it is the right tone for my skin.

I use the Loreal Bare Naturale, too. I LOVE how my skin looks. I haven't branched into the shadows or blushes or anything else in the line...I use estee lauder for all of that.

Yes, I still love my BE makeup! I bought one other brush than was in the kit and that was the full sized Kabuki brush. To me this is the quickest way to apply makeup. I bought a kit to make smokey eyes but haven’t had the guts to attempt it. (I suck at makeup!)

I have to admit, I usually wait until I get a 15% off coupon at Sephora and buy two of the foundations at a time. The foundations seems to last for forever though. I am not sure if it is more expensive than other makeup, but nothing else seems to give me the coverage I need.

It's all I use.  I rarely use the foundation anymore as I bought the SPF 30 powder in light and just use that.  I also mix the mineral veil in with my warmth to save a step.  I don't use the kabuki brush as I don't need that much coverage.

I use Well Rested for my eye lids and my dark circles and it's awesome!!  I use Fashionista powder wet for my eyeliner.

I also recently got the Rare Minerals overnight powder and the Heal and Conceal kit and my skin looks great.    They gave me samples of the moisturizer and I'm going to have to get the full bottle. .

I went into a Bare Escentuals store and I'd highly recommend it.  They let you try everything before you buy.

Yep still using it and loving it.  I buy a ton of those little kit sets they sell on Sephora so I have a lot of everything.

I had found the perfect shade of lipstick and lost in someones car after it fell out of my purse.  I need to get a replacement for it but in the summer I only wear glosses so it's not a priorty right now.
