We got back from Florida on Sunday morning. It was a great trip. Really tiring. We did Disney for Madi's bday and has breakfast with the princesses. Pictures to come at some point.
We looked at tons of houses in Kissimmee and decided the are was not for us. So we decided to buy a new build townhouse in Oviedo which is north of Orlando. We were pre-approved and everything. We signed a contract .....
And then today the bank hits us with this issue that this will be considered a second home since we will not have jobs in Florida until next year. With that we would have to put down 20% or find jobs that we would start within 60 days of closing. No way are either of these happening.
So now we are going to have to call the builders and cancel our contract. I am so sad! I was actually ready to buy with 10%down. ANd the price ws GREAT. They were offering tons of upgrades and money towards closing. We also would have qualified for the $8000 tax credit. Now there is no way we can get all of this cause we have to wait until closer to the summer.
joyce, as someone who went the route of buying new construction, don't lose hope.
with the market the way it is, there is a REALLY good chance that they will have something just as perfect next spring when you guys interview and find new homes there. maybe even the SAME house (which is what happened to us)!
i'm glad you had a good trip. don't lose hope on the relo. it just might work out better than you think!
Joyce - ITA with april. I know it will work out for you guys and you'd be surprised at how often something better comes along! I am so excited for you and anxious to hear all about your move when the time comes! Glad you had a great trip. I missed you!
Joyce I'm thrilled you are planning to move down here! April is absolutely right - hang in there. The market is horrible here right now and I'm sure that you will find what you are looking for next spring.
Thanks ladies. We tried with the bank but they are not willing to work with us right now unless we have employment 60 days after closing which would be in Feb. So way too unrealistic!
But....the seller is going to find out from his company if he can lock us in at the incentives and price we were offered with 5% down. We really like the community as it is conviently located near supermarkets and schools. We also like that it is about an 8 min drive to DH's aunt's house.
Prayers & positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
